Hope Geriatric Lodge, Penang's premier old folks home and assisted living facility aspires to instil hope, joy and purposeful living for the elderly.
HISTORY & MISSION
-Hope inspires us to live life to the fullest, an abundant life of contentment, joy and fulfilment-
Hope Geriatric Lodge was established by Dr Chew Yu Gee in 2017 with the aim of providing excellent wholistic care to the elderly residents of Penang and Northern Peninsula Malaysia. Having cared for his own beloved mother with terminal breast cancer, and grandmother with Alzheimer's disease, he understands the needs of our elders who have sacrificed so much for us.
With this knowledge and personal experience, it is part of our DNA to provide not just the best care for your loved ones, but a place called home. Our attentive staff, from the doctors, nurses, cleaners, are individually handpicked for their dedication, skill and most importantly heart.

Our mission is simple - your family is our family. We promise to treat, care and attend to every single resident like you would your mother or father. Because we know what we want for our family - the best.

Dr Chew Yu Gee
Medical Doctor
Dr Chew Yu Gee is a Paediatrician who also loves Geriatrics!
His passion and laughter can be felt throughout the corridors of Hope Geriatric Lodge and he strives to provide more than just physical care.
Hope Geriatric Lodge stemmed from his idea of providing wholistic care for senior citizens. His tagline is "Hope Geriatric Lodge is a ministry for the elderly. We will give them hope, meaning and an abundant final race in this life".
Dr Art Chew
Medical Doctor
Dr Art Chew brings with him a wealth of experience from his time in various hospitals throughout Peninsula Malaysia - Penang, Selangor and Johor. After completing his internship in Penang General Hospital, he commenced a medical officer job in anaesthetics in Hospital Sultan Aminah, where he learnt to manage patients in ICU with life-threatening conditions.
His passion extends to the emotional and spiritual health of patients, which he incorporates into his daily practice. He is a firm believer of "God heals, we help".
Tan Soo Siong
General Manager
Soo left her promising career as P.A. to the Penang State Minister for Youth & Sport, Women & Family Development to pursue her passion of providing exceptional holistic care for seniors at Hope Geriatric Lodge.
We are extremely proud of her recent appointment as a Penang Island Local Government City Councillor (MBPP). Despite her busy schedule, she still volunteers in community projects that focus especially on the welfare of senior citizens.
Nursing Staff
Our attentive and capable nursing staff are led by our Nurse Unit Manager or matron, Laya June.
Laya brings with her a wealth of experience having worked in the field of nursing for more than 23 years, since she graduated from in 1997 from the prestigious Adventist College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Should you have any requirements or concerns for your loved one, she will be most happy to chat with you over the phone or in person. Together with our team, we will ensure you and your family will be more than satisfied with your second home at the Lodge.
